Solution:

Given, Principal value (P) = Rs 12000

Rate (R) = 8% p.a.

Time (T) = 2 years.

We know,

Simple Interest (SI) = PRT/100

= (12000*8*2)/100

= Rs 1920.

So, total amount to be repayed = Rs (12000+1920)

= Rs 13920

He paid Rs 12000 at the end of 2nd year.

So, money repaid at the end of 3rd year

= Rs (13920-12000)

= Rs 1920.

So, the man needs to repay Rs 1920.
