3x+5y=100.....(i)
x+y=22...........(ii)

multiplying equation (ii) with 5 on both side
5x+5y=110.......(iii)
subtracting equation (i) from equation (iii)
2x=10
x=5

so the men bought 5 number of 3 paise tickets
