A man buys some number of pens, where
the price of each pen is equal to the marked
price which was Rs.10 more than the number
of pens he paid for. On the order he gets 15
extra pens as a bonus, totally free of cost. He
decides to sell all the pens at a price equal
to the MP of a pen, hence his total profit was
20%. What is the number of pens he received
in his order?

Answer:

Let the CP of each pen be Rs.x.

Then,

CP of 5 pens=Rs. 5

SP of 5 pens=CP of 7 pnes=Rs. 7

now,gain=SP-CP=Rs.(7-5)=Rs. 2

gain%=gain/cp*100

=(2/5 *100)%= 40%

Hence,the gain=40%
