Because the weight of the person on the earth relative to the weight on the moon is 1/6 of the earth.....That is , its gravitational attraction ( or pull ) is 6 times less than the gravitational attraction of the earth......so as result you feel lighter out there and Jim six times high as compared to earth........

Answer:

The gravity of the Moon is significantly lower than that of the Earth; it is just one-sixth as powerful.

Explanation:

  • You weigh only 1/6th as much while you are on the Moon.
  • The acceleration caused by gravity, or "g," is 1/6th of what it is on Earth.
  • The net acceleration that objects get as a result of the combined action of gravity and centrifugal force is known as the Earth's gravity, or g. A vector quantity, that is.
  • Acceleration owing to gravity is the term used to describe the acceleration of freely falling bodies caused by the force of attraction of the other body.
  • For a specific attracting body at a specific location, it is a constant number.

The person can jump 6 times as high on the moon as he can on earth due to the weaker acceleration due to gravity on the moon.
