Let speed of stream be y
Speed=Distance/Time i.e Time =
Distance/Speed
Given,
10=1 /x+y----© ie 10=1x1/x+y
20=1 / x-y---®ie 20=1x1/x-y
Let 1/x+y=p and 1/x-y=q
©---- 10=1xp
p = 10
1/x+y=p
x+y=-9----1
®-----20=1xq
q = 20
1/x-y=20
x-y=-19----2

y = 5
1+2(equations)
x = 14
So speed of boat in still water is 14
