Hey there!
It's easy:
Rate in still water
= 1/2 (10 + 7) km/hr
= 8.5 km/hr
Rate of current
= 1/2 (10 - 7) km/hr
= 1.5 km/hr
Hope it helps !

hey there,
according to question ,
here, Given, upstream = 7kmph
Downstream = 10kmph.
we have to find out rate in still water and the rate of current.
so, Rate in still water = 1 / 2 (10 + 7) km/hr
= 8.5 km/hr.
Rate of current = 1 / 2(10 - 7) km/hr
= 1.5 km/hr.
Therefore, Rate in still water = 8.5 km/hr.
and , Rate of current = 1.5 km/hr.
