if the liquids are immiscible put the mixture in a seperating funnel and leave it undisturbed for a while it will seperate the mixture of two liquids into two distinct layers the heavier which gain the position on below the funnel and lighter layer which gain the position on upper.A mixture of carbon tetrachloride and water can be seperated.
