We know that maximum horizontal range is,

R = u² / g.

Given,

R = u² / g = 100 m.

We know the maximum height of a projectile,

u² sin²θ / 2g.

Maximum height is obtained when θ = 90°, i.e., when the body is projected vertically upwards.

So, maximum height is,

H = u² / 2g = (u² / g) / 2 = R / 2

That's why the answer is H = 100 / 2 = 50 m.

Rmax = u^2÷g = 100

Hmax = u^2÷2g =100÷2 =50metrr
