In 10 days 5/8 work completed.

Hence 10 days-------->5/8 works

           1 day ---------->(5/8) * 10 =5/80 = 1/16 works

Total time will take to complete 1 work =  1/(1/16) = 16 days

Therefore remaining days it will take to complete the task = 16-10=6 days .

Hope it will help you.

Given:

The days in which A completes 5/8 of a job= 10

To find:

The time in which A can complete the remaining part of the job.

Solution:

The time in which A completes 5/8 of a job = 10 days.

The formula used here is,

(M₁ ×D₁ ×H₁ )/ W₁ = (M₂ ×D₂ ×H₂ )/ W₂

Since same person is doing all the work, therefore

M₁ = M₂ =1

D₁ = 10

W₁ = 5/8

W₂ = 1

On putting values, we get,

(10× 8)/5= D₂/1

D₂ = 16 days

Remaining part of the job = 1 - (5/8) = 3/8

The days in which A can complete the whole job = 16

The days needed by A to complete 3/8 of the job = (3/8) ×16 = 6 days.

A can complete the rest of the job in 6 days.
