17.5 km/H

A)

= 17.5 * (1000/60) m / min

= 17500 / 60

= 291.66 m/min

B) 17.5 * (1000/3600)

= 17.5 * (5 / 18)

= 4.86m/ s

Speed in m/min is 58.33 m/min and speed in m/sec is 0.97 m/sec.

Distance covered by man =17.5 km

Time taken by man =5 hours

We know that speed=distance/time

(a) We know that 1 km=1000 m so 17.5 km =17.5*1000 m=17500 m

1 hour =60 seconds so 5 hours =5*60=300 seconds

Speed in m/min=17500/300=58.33 m/min

(b)Speed in /sec is

Distance in meters =17500 m

Time in seconds=5*60*60=5*3600=18000 seconds

Speed in m/sec=17500/18000=0.97 m/sec
