Let distance covered on foot be x kms and that by scooter be (14-x) kms. Let the time taken to cover x kms on foot be t hrs, and that to cover (14-x) kms on scooter be (1-t) hrs.
Speed = Distance covered/time taken to cover the distance ⇒ distance covered = speed×time required to cover that distance.
x = 4×t ......................... equation 1
14-x = 44(1-t)............... equation 2
Substituting x = 4t in equation 2, we get
14-4t = 44-44t ⇒ 40t = 30 ⇒ t = 3/4 hours.
Distance covered on foot = speed×time required to cover the distance = 3/4×4 = 3 kms.

Hello Dear.

Here is the answer---

→→→→→→→→→→

Let the Distance covered by the man by foot be x km.
∴ Distance by Scooter = (14 - x)

For Foot.
Speed = 4 km/hr.
Distance = x km.

Using the Formula,

  Speed = Distance/Time
 Time(T₁) = x/4

For Scooter.
Distance = (14 - x)km.
Speed = 44 km/hr.

∴ Time(T₂) = (14 - x)/44

As per as the Question,

 T₁ + T₂ = 1
 \frac{x}{4} +  \frac{14 - x}{44} = 1
 \frac{11x + 14 - x}{44} = 1
 10x + 14 = 44
  10x = 44 - 14
  10x = 30
    x = 3

∴ Distance covered by the man from the Foot = x
 = 3 hours.

∴ Distance covered by the man from Scooter = (14 - x) km.
 = 14 - 3
 = 11 km.
