A man deposited 590 rupees cheque in a bank.The bank gave him 5 rupees note and 10 rupees note of a total 70 notes.let us calculate by simulation equation that how many 5 rupees and 10 rupees note the bank gave
Answers
Let the 5 rupee notes be x and 10 rupee notes be y respectively.
Acc. to question,
x+y=70 or x=70-y .........(i)
also, 5x+10y=590 .........(ii)
Therefore 5(70-y)+10y=590
350-5y+10y=590
5y=240
y=48
putting value of y in (i)
x=70-48=22
Therefore bank gave 22 five rupee notes and 48 ten rupee notes
The bank gave him 22 five rupees notes and 48 ten rupees notes
Solution:
Let the number of 5 rupees notes be "x"
Let the number of 10 rupees notes be "y"
The bank gave him 5 rupees note and 10 rupees note of a total 70 notes
Therefore,
x + y = 70 ------ eqn 1
A man deposited 590 rupees cheque in a ban
Therefore,
5x + 10y = 590 ----- eqn 2
calculate by substitution method
From eqn 1,
x = 70 - y ----- eqn 3
Substitute eqn 3 in eqn 2
5(70 - y) + 10y = 590
350 - 5y + 10 y = 590
5y = 590 - 350
5y = 240
y = 48
Substitute y = 48 in eqn 3
x = 70 - 48
x = 22
Thus the bank gave him 22 , 5 rupees notes and 48 , 10 rupees notes
