A man deposited a sum of Rs. 5000 in a bank and earned an interest of Rs. 600 in 2 years.
How much would a deposit of Rs. 8000 earn in the same period? (Rate of interest being the same)
What we will use here direct or inverse proportion?

principal=5000

si= rs 600

time=2 years

rate=?

rate=si×100/time×principal

rate=60000/10000

rate=6%p.a

new principal= 8000

si=p×r×t/100

si=8000×6×2/100

si= rs 960

therefore si on rs 8000 is rs 960
