14000-5000=9000

then 4:5 let the ratio be x

4x+5x=9000

9X=9000

X=9000/9

X=1000

4X=1000*4=4000

5X=1000*5=5000

Total amount given to sons = 14000 - 5000

                                                = Rs9000

Let amt given 1st son be 4x and amt given to 2nd son be 5x

According to question

4x + 5x = 9000

9x = 9000

x = 9000/9

x = 1000

Amt given to 1st son = 4 x 1000 = Rs 4000

Amt given to second son = 5 x 1000 = Rs5000
