Distance between the two person = 300 m

Time after which he heard the sound = 1 s

so speed = distance / time = 300 m/s

Now time for hearing echo = total distance travelled /speed

Total distance = 150 + 150 + 300 = 600 m  [from person A to cliff then back to person A  +  distance from person A to person ]

Time for hearing echo =  600 / 300 = 2 sec
