let the total amount of money be x

he gave 50x/100 to his son

and 30x/100 to his daughter

now he has x - 50x/100 - 30x/100 = 20x/100

but now he gave 10x/100 to trust

now he as 10x/100 = 5000

x = 500000/10 =  Rs. 50000

kritika06: he has given 50%of the remaining to the trust
TheEdward: yup
TheEdward: i know
kritika06: is this question wrong?
TheEdward: no the question is right
TheEdward: fifty percent of 20x/100 will be 10x/100
TheEdward: right?

Answer :. Option (3)

kritika06: can you please give a stepwise explanation?
SIVALNM: let 50% and 30% of 50000 is 25000 and 15000 respectively and he gave that amount to his son and daughter resply.so,he has 10000 remaining.in that amount he gave 10%(5000) to trust.after all,he has 5000 as remaining.
SIVALNM: 50%(5000) to the trust
