A man goes 10m East
Then he walks 24m North

Let the starting point of his journey be P
He walks 10m east, i.e PE = 10m
From E he walks 24m north, i.e NE = 24m

According to the question,
Let "x" (NP) be the distance from the starting point.
By Pythagoras Theorem, in a right angled triangle NEP, we have ―
NP² = PE² + NE²
→ x² = 10² + 24²
→ x² = 100 + 576
→ x² = 676
→ x = √676 = 26

Therefore, the man is 26m away from the starting point.
