Hi,
Man goes towards east= 10m
Then he goes towards north = 24m
He makes a triangle |
|___
To get the total distance we need to find the 3rd side of triangle that is hypotenuse side.
Base = 10m
Height = 24m
hypotenuse side = (10)^2 ± (24)^2 (as the formula of hypotenuse is base square plus height square is equals to hypo...square(
(hypotenuse)^2 = 100±576
(Hypotenuse)^2 = 676
hypotenuse = 26 (square root of 676)
Answer is 26m!

I hope it will help you

Option A is correct 26m.
He goes east 10m and then turn to north andd moves 24m
To find distance between his initial and final points we will find the distance between point A and point B (as show in the diagram) which equals AC.
Using pythagoras theorem:
(AC)^2 = 10^2 + 24^2
(AC)^3 = 100 + 576
AC = 26
So, the distance between hiis initial point would be 26m.
