the answer is 26km if it is the distance
if it is displacement it will be 24km+10km=34km!!!!

A man goes 24km in due east and then He goes 10km in due north

To Find :how far is he from the starting point

Solution:

Refer the attached figure

A man goes 24km in due east

AB = 24 km

He goes 10km in due north

BC = 10 km

SO, A is the starting point and C is the end point

To Find AC

AC^2 = AB^2 +BC^2

AC=\sqrt{24^2+10^2}

AC=26

Hence He is 26 km far from starting point
