Displacement=final position-initital position

Let's the starting point be O

From O he is going at point A in south whose distance from O is 12 m

From A he is going at point B in west whose distance from A is 35m

If we join all three points together we got a right angle triangle OAB.

WHOSE OA=12m=a

AB=35M=b

according to pithagoras theoram

BO=UNDERROOT(a^2+b^2)

=underroot(12^2+35^2)

=underroot(144+1225)

=underroot(1369)

=underroot(37×37)

=+-37

since displacement cant be negative so the answer will be 37m
