A man has to take a dog, rabbit and an apple across a river, his small boat can only accommodate the man plus the dog or rabbit or apple at a time. If he takes the apple with him, the dog will eat the rabbit. If he takes the dog with him, the rabbit will eat the apple. Only with the man present, the rabbit and apple are safe from respective enemies. How many river journeys should the man make in his boat to safely move the dog, apple and the rabbit from Point A to Point B (that is, crossing the river)? NOTE: Journey from A-B and then from B-A would be counted as 2 journeys and not 1.

Answer:

1 journey..

Explanation:

Because, remember dogs can swim and in the question they told nothing about any danger in water so the dog can swim across the river, the man can eat the apple and carry the rabbit in the boat. So he can complete the whole task in 1 journey .
