Rs.1,200

SP = 1080

Loss = 10%

CP = ?

Loss = CP - SP

Loss% = 100*(Loss/CP)

Loss% = 100*[(CP - SP)/CP]

Loss% = 100*(1 - (SP/CP))

=> SP = CP*[1 - (Loss%/100)}

Substituting for SP and Loss%, we get:

1080 = CP(1 - (10/100))

1080 = CP(1 - 0.1)

1080 = CP(0.9)

CP = 1080/0.9 = 1200

Cost price of the blanket is Rs.1,200

Alternative Method:

Loss = 10%

This means if CP = 100 then SP = 90

Now, SP = 1080

=> CP = (1080*100)/90

=> CP = 1200

Answer:

Sp = ₹1080

profit% = 10%

Cp = Sp*100/100+10

Cp = 1080*100 /110

Cp = 10800/11

Cp = 981.1
