The amount invested at 6% is ₹ 8,000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:- I)A sum of ₹ 20,000 is invested in two parts i.e, first part at 5% and the second part at 6%.

II)The first part (which invested at 5%) yields annually ₹120 more than the second part( which invested at 6%).

To Find:- The amount invested at 6% ?

Solution:- Let first part which is invested at 5% be ₹ x.

Then, second part is ₹ (20,000-x)

ATQ,

First part return - Second part return = ₹ 120

=> 5% of x - 6% of ( 20,000-x) = 120

= 5x/100- 6(20000-x)/100= 120

= 5x/100-120000/100+6x/100= 120

= 5x+6x/100= 120+120000/100

= 5x+6x/100= 120+1200

= 11x/100= 1320

= x= 132000/11

= x= 12000
