X = 600000  if Man has bought equal share rather than equal investment and loss of income = rs 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Man invest Rs  X  in  Each Type share

Company A  Shares =  X/80

Dividend  =  (12/100) * (X/80)  =  3X /2000

Company B  Shares =  X/120

Dividend  =  (16/100) * (X/120)  =  4X /3000

Total Dividend  = 3X /2000 + 4X/3000   =  17X/6000

Equal number of Shares = y

80 y  +  120y  =  2X

=> 200y  = 2X

=> y = X/100

Dividend from A =  (12/100)X/100 = 12X/10000

Dividend from B =  (16/100)X/100 = 16X/10000

Total Dividend = 28X/10000

17X/6000  - 20  = 28X/10000

multiplying both sides by 30000

=> 85X - 600000 = 84X

=> X = 600000

Verification :

7500 * (12/100) = 900

5000 * (16/100) = 800

900 + 800 = 1700

6000 * (12/100) = 720

6000 * (16/100) = 960

720 + 960 = 1680

1700 - 1680 = 20
