Answer:

Let the sons present Age be x years.

Then, Mans present age will be (x + 24) years.

According to Question :

➳ x + 24 + 2 = 3(x + 2)

➳ x + 26 = 3x + 6

➳ 26 - 6 = 3x - x

➳ 2x = 20

➳ x = 10 years

Therefore, the present age of his son is 10 years.

and the man age is x + 24 = 10 + 24 = 34 years.

Given:

A man is 24 years older than his son.

After 2 years, his age will be three times that of his son.

To find:

Their present ages.

Solution:

Let us consider the son's age to be x.

Therefore,  the man's age will be = x + 24, since it is given in the question that the man is 24 years older than his son.

Now, After 2 years it is given that the man's age will be three times the age of his son.

Therefore, after two years both the man's and his son's age will increase by 2,

Hence, the son's age will be = x + 2

And the man's age will be = x+ 24 + 2 = x + 26

According to the question, after two years the man's age will be three times the age of his son.

Hence,

⇒ x + 26 = 3 × (x + 2)

⇒ x + 26 = 3x + 6

⇒ x - 3x = 6 - 26

⇒ - 2x = - 20

⇒ x = - 20 / - 2

⇒ x = 10

Therefore the sons present age is 10 years.

Therefore the man's present age is x + 24 = 34 years.

Hence, The present ages of the man and his son is 34 and 10 respectively.
