Let the present age of the son be x.
so,
    son's age = x
father's age = x+26 {1}

AFTER 10 YEARS
    son's age= x+10
father's age = 3(x+10){2}
SO,
fathers age after 10 years = x+26+10--------{1}
fathers age after 10 years = 3(x+10)---------{2}
so,
    x+26+10=3(x+10)
    x+26+10=3x+30
    36-30=3x-x
    6=2x
    x=6/2
    x=3
SO,
    their present ages are
son's age =x=3
father's age =x+26=3+26=29

sakchi: Three times a certain number, diminished by four, equals 20.find the number
amdi123: 3x/4=20
amdi123: 3x=20*4
amdi123: 3x=80
amdi123: x=80/3
sakchi: solve :x/5 +x=12
sakchi: solve :x-1/3-2x-3/5=1
sakchi: solve :y+15%of y =46
