\bf{\underline{Solution:-}}

At present :

At present :Son age = 8 years

At present :Son age = 8 yearsFather age = 32 years

Step-by-step explanation:

At present:

Age of son = x years

His Father age = 4x years

After 16 years:

Age of son = (x+16) years

Father age = (4x+16) years

According to the problem given

\rm 4x + 16 = 2(x + 16)

\rm 4x + 16 = 2x + 32

\rm 4x - 2x = 32 - 16

\rm 2x = 16

\rm x = 16/2

\rm x = 8

\bf{\underline{Hence:-}}

  • Present age of son = 8 years
  • Present age of father = 4x = 4 × 8 = 32 years
