so man's age = 4x
sons age after 16 years = x+16
man's age after 16 years = 4x+16

2(x+16) = 4x+16
2x+32=4x+16
2x-4x=16-32
-2x= -16
2x = 16
x= 16/2
x= 8

Son's age = 8 yrs
Man's age = 4×8 = 32 years
