let age of son = x
so man's age = 4x
sons age after 16 years = x+16
man's age after 16 years = 4x+16
ATQ
2(x+16) = 4x+16
2x+32=4x+16
2x-4x=16-32
-2x= -16
2x = 16
x= 16/2
x= 8

Son's age = 8 yrs
Man's age = 4×8 = 32 years

Hope it helps.

Solution :-

Let the age of son be - p

And the age of man be - 4p

After 16 years sons age be - p+16

And the man age will be- 4p+16

A/Q

2(p+16) = (4p+16)

2p+32 = 4p+16

32-16 = 4p-2p

16 = 2p

p = 16/2

p= 8 years

Age of man - 8×4

- 32 years
