⇒Mass of the man "m" = 40 Kg

⇒Acceleration of lift in upward direction a = 2 m/s²

⇒Let the weight shown by machine be N

⇒Then equation of motion for body :- ma = N-mg

i.e  N = m(a+g)

or N = 40(2+10) = 480

⇒Thus weight of the man recorded by machine = N/g = 480/10 = 48 Kg
