Let the present age of son be x years

So, the present age of man be 3x years

(3x+16) = 2(x+16)

⇒ 3x + 16 = 2x + 32

⇒ 3x - 2x = 32 - 16

⇒ x = 16

∴Present age of Son = x = 16years

∴Present age of Man = 3x = 3×16

= 48years
