age of man 20 years ago = 12
so we will add to find present age =
12 + 20 = 32
and his son age is = 32 / 2 = 16

son = a/2
According to question
a - 20 = (a/2 -20)12
a -20 = 6a -240
5a = 220
a = 44
Father's age = 44
Son age = 44/2 =22
