A man is twice as old as his son. 20 years ago, the age of the man was 12 times the age of the son. Find their present ages.

age of man 20 years ago = 12
so we will add to find present age =
12 + 20 = 32
and his son age is = 32 / 2 = 16

Father age = a

son = a/2

According to question

a - 20 = (a/2 -20)12

a -20 = 6a -240

5a = 220

a = 44

Father's age = 44

Son age = 44/2 =22
