Given:

Total Amount lent  = 2000 Rs

Interest rate = 5% and 4%

Annual Interest = 92

To Find:

Amount lent at 5%.

Solution:

  • Let x Rs be the amount lent at 5%.
  • Then 2000-x Rs will be lent at 4%.
  • Total Interest = 92 Rs

Therefore,

We can see that 5%(x) and 4%(2000-x) add up to give the total interest.

  • x (5%) + (2000-x)4% = 92
  • 5x + 8000 - 4x = 9200
  • x = 9200 - 8000
  • x = 1200 Rs.

The amount lent at 5% is 1200Rs.
