Let's say he travelled at 60 km/hr for x hours and the rest 9-x at 45 km/hr. Since the total distance is 480 km, we must have

60x+45∗(9−x)=480
15x + 405 = 480
15x = 75
x = 5
Total distance covered at 60 km/hr = 300 km

Answer:

300km

Step-by-step explanation:

Total distance=480km

9hrs

Part 1 Distance =x , Speed =54km/hr and

Time =x/54

Part 2 Distance = 480-x, Speed =60km/hr

Time = 480-x/60

Equation x/54 + 480-x/60 = 9

.

OR

60x+45(9-x)=480

15x+405=480

15 x=75

x=5

Total distance covered at 60km/hr

=300 km
