A man made a trip of 480 km/hr in 9 hrs . Some part of the trip was covered at 45km/hr and the remaining at 60km/hr . Find the part of the trip covered by him at 60km/hr.

Solution :

Let 'x' hrs be travel with  45km/h and rest with  60km/h

\Rightarrow 15 x + 60 ( 9 − x ) = 480

\Rightarrow 45x + 450 − 60x = 480

\Rightarrow 15x = 60

[ x = 4 ]

Therefore, Total distance covered with  60km/hr  = 60 × 5 = 300 km .
