Given :-

A man pulls a block with a force of 200N through 50m in one minute.

To Find :-

The power used by the man to pull the block.

Analysis :-

First we have to find the work done by the man. Substitute the given values and find it accordingly.

Convert the time from minutes to seconds.

Then find the power by substituting the values we have in it's respective formula.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • s = Displacement
  • f = Force
  • w = Work
  • t = Time
  • p = Power

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Work \ done=Force \times Displacement}}

Given that,

Force (F) = 200 N

Displacement (s) = 50 m

Substituting their values,

Work done = 200 × 50

Work done = 10000 J

Given that,

Time (t) = 1 minute

By converting,

1 minute = 60 seconds

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Power=\dfrac{ Work \ done\ }{Displacement} }}

Given that,

Work done (w) = 10000 J

Displacement (s) = 50 m

Substituting their values,

\sf =\dfrac{10000}{60}

\sf = 166.67 \ watts

Therefore, the power used by him to pull the block is 166.67 watts.
