A man purchased some eggs at 3 for rupees 16 and sold them at 5 for rupees 36. Thus, he gained rupees 168 in all. How many eggs did he purchase?

purchased 3 for 16=5.33 /egg
sold 5 for 36=7.2/eg
incom at /egg=7.2-5.33=1.87 rupees /egg
total gained amount=168/1.87=89.839
means =90 egg
