A man reaches his office two hours late travelling
at 50 km/hr. If he increases his speed to 60 km/hr,
he is late by one hour. Find the distance he has to
travel to reach his office and the speed required to
reach the office in time

Step-by-step explanation:

Let distance be D and normal time be t.

By 50kmph

50(t+2) = d

50t +100 =d

By 60kmph

60(t+1) =d

60t +60 =d

Subtract both eqns we get 10t = 40

T=4 hrs

So D = 300kms

So speed to reach office in time is

V= 300/4 = 75kmph
