let the number of pages in the book be 'x'
no.of pages read on first day=x/4
no.of pages read on second day=(x-x/4)/3=4x-x/4)/3=(4x-x)/12
as per given condition we get,
x/4+(4x-x)/12+100=x
(3x+4x-x+1200)/12=x
6x+1200=12x
x=200
therefore the book contains 200 pages
pages read by boy on first day=200/4=50
pages read by boy on second day=(4x-x)/12=3×200/12=50
therefore pages read by boy on two days=100
no.of pages read on first day=x/4
no.of pages read on second day=(x-x/4)/3=4x-x/4)/3=(4x-x)/12
as per given condition we get,
x/4+(4x-x)/12+100=x
(3x+4x-x+1200)/12=x
6x+1200=12x
x=200
therefore the book contains 200 pages
pages read by boy on first day=200/4=50

therefore pages read by boy on two days=100
