a man reared cows and buffaloes.the number of buffaloes was 7 more than one third of the number of cows.what was the total number of animals, if the number of buffaloes was 21.

Let the number of buffaloes be b
And the number of cows be c
According to question,
b = 7 + c/3
b = 21
21 = 7 + c/3
14 = c/3
c = 42

Total number of animals = 21+42 = 63
