A man running around the field which is a square of side 100m and complete 2.5 round calculate the distance and displacement after (a) 2.5 round (b) 2 round

distance will be direct addition of whole length that the man had walked so,

(a) for 2.5 rounds it will be 2.5 times perimeter i.e. we get 1000m

(b) for 2 rounds it will be 2 times perimeter i.e. we get 800 m

but displacement is the direct distance between initial and final position so,

(a) for 2.5 rounds we have the initial and final positions to be diagonally opposite to each other and the disp. will be length of diagonal i.e. 100√2

(b) for 2 rounds it will be zero becoz initial and final positions are same
