A man runs from his home to the market 2km away .he reaches the market in 30 minutes .seeing the market closed, he at once runs back to his home and stops after 15 minutes at his friend's house which is 1 km away from the market.
Calculate his average speed and magnitude of average velocity during the whole journey.​

so total distance covered will be = 2km+1km = 3km

now time he took in first portion = 30 min = 1/2 hr

and in 2nd portion = 1/4 hr

so average speed = total dist / total time

= 3km/ 3/4 = 4m/s answer

now average velocity = disp / time

= 3/3/4= 4m/s answer
