S O L U T I O N :

Let the present age of son be R years.

A man's age is (R+30) years.

A/q

\underbrace{\sf{After\:8\:years\::}}}}

The age of the Son's will be (R+8) years.

The age of the Man's will be (R+30+8) years.

So;

\longrightarrow\rm{R+38=4(R+8)}\\\\\longrightarrow\rm{R+38=4R+32}\\\\\longrightarrow\rm{R-4R=32-38}\\\\\longrightarrow\rm{-3R=-6}\\\\\longrightarrow\rm{R=\cancel{-6/-3}}\\\\\longrightarrow\bf{R=2\:years}

Thus;

\underbrace{\sf{The\:present\:age\:of\:the\:son\:will\:be\:\boxed{\bf{2\:years.}}}}}

Given :

  • A man's age is 30 years more than his son.

  • Eight years hence father's age will be four times the age of his son.

To find :

  • The present age of son =?

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, the present age of the son's be x.

Then, the present age of father's be, x + 30

After 8 years son's age = x + 8

After 8 years father's age = x + 30 + 8.

It is Given that :

Eight years hence father's age will be four times the age of his son.

So, Son's age will be, 4(x + 8)

According to the question :

➮ 4(x + 8) = (x + 30 + 8)

➮ 4x + 32 = x + 30 + 8

➮ 4x - x = 30 + 8 - 32

➮ 3x = 6

➮ x = 6/3

➮ x = 2.

Therefore, We got the value of, x = 2.

Hence,

The present age of the son's = 2 years
