Let the son's age be x years.
⇒Man's age=3*x=3x years.
Son's age 10 years ago=x-10 years.
Man's age 10 years ago=3x-10 years.
Given,
5(x-10)=3x-10
5x-50=3x-10
5x-3x=50-10
2x=40
x= \frac{40}{2}=20
Son's present age:20 years and Man's present age:3*20=60 years.
Ans:Son's age is 20 years and Man's age is 60 years.
