Let the present age of man be x yrs
And the present age of son be y yrs

ATQ

x=8y -------------------------i

After 2 years
Man's age = (x+2) yrs
Son's age = (y+2) yrs

(x+2) = 6(y+2)
=> x+2=6y+12
=> x-6y-10 = 0 -------------------------ii

Substituting the value of x from i to ii

8y-6y = 10
2y = 10
=> y = 5 years

x=8y
= 8x5
= 40 years

Therefore, the present age of Man is 40 years
And the present age of son is 5 years.
