Let x be initial wage of man;

Since its reduced by 50% new wage is x/2

Again increased by 50% ⇒ increase in wage is 50% of  x/2 = x/4

New wage = x/2 +x/4 = 3x/4

Loss = x - 3x/4 = x/4

A man wages were decreased by 50% and again increased by 50% then he has a loss of 25%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: A man wages were decreased by 50%

Again wages were increased by 50%

To find: Loss of wages.

Solution.

Let 100 be the wages of man if it is decreased by 50%.

His wages become (100 - (50% of 100)

⇒ 100 - 50

⇒ 50

Reduction wages = 50

When it is increased by 50% then again his salary become (50 + (50% of 50)

⇒ 50 + (50% of 50)

⇒ 50 + 25

⇒ 75

Increased wages by 50% = 75

So the percentage of weight loss = 100 -75

⇒ 25 %

Final answer:

Man's wages has a loss of 25%
