Solution

Given :-

  • A man sold a square field of side 35 m and a rectangular field of length 51 m and breadth 25 m. He then purchased a square
  • field of equal area.

To Find :-

  • The side of the square field.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Side of Square = 35 m

As we know that :-

Area of square = {(side)}^{2}

Putting the respective value

Area of square = {(35)}^{2}

Area of square = 1225 {m}^{2}

Now,

Length of rectangle = 51 m

Breadth of rectangle = 25 m

As we know that :-

Area of rectangle = l \times b

Putting the respective value

Area of perimeter = 51 \times 25

Area of perimeter = 1257 {m}^{2}

Total Area = ( 1225 + 1257 ) {m}^{2}

Total Area = 2500 {m}^{2}

According to the question,

Area of new square field will be equal to 2500 {m}^{2}

Therefore,

Area of new square field = 2500 {m}^{2}

S \times S = 2500{m}^{2}

 {S}^{2} = 2500{m}^{2}

S = \sqrt{2500}

S = 50 m

Hence,

  • The side of the square field = 50 m
