a man sold one by two of his land he gave one by two of remaining portion to his son and 1 by 3 of the balance to his daughter what fraction of his land is left with him​

sold 1/2 left with 1/2

son 1/2 of 1/2=1/4

daughter 1/3 of 1/2=1/6

work out how much he has sold or given away

1/2+1/4+1/6 can also be shown as 6/2+3/12+2/12 which =11/12 given away

so he had 1/2 left from the original amount.

To add or sub. fractions make the bottom numbers the same i.e.

1/2 can be shown as 2/4,3/12,1/6 as 2/12

i.e. multiply the top numbee by the same amount as the bottom numbers.
