Therefore,

X + 20% of X = 12

X+ 0.2 X = 12

X = 10 rupees

Case 2:

Given-

S.P=12 rupees

Loss = 20%

Solution-

Let the C. P of 2nd article be 'y'

Therefore,

Y - 20% of Y = 12

Y - 0.2 Y = 12

0.8 Y = 12

Y = 15 rupees.

Now, Total C. P = 10+15 =25

Total S. P = 12+12 =24

Total transaction= Total CP - Total SP = 25-24= - 1(loss)
