Let the total amount he has be ₹ $1$

Money Spent by him :

$\dfrac{2}{5} of \: ₹1 \: = ₹( \dfrac{2}{5} \times 1) = ₹ \dfrac{2}{5}$

∴ Money left with him : $₹(1 - \dfrac{2}{5} ) = ₹ \dfrac{3}{5}$

But, it is given that he has ₹ 90 left .

$∴ \dfrac{3}{5}$ of the whole amount = ₹$90$

∴ Whole amount =

$₹(90 \times \dfrac{5}{3} ) = ₹150$

Therefore, he initially had ₹150 with him
