Define x:

Let the amount he has be x

Amount spent on house rental:

House Rental = 30%x = 0.3x

Amount remaining:

Amount remaining = x - 0.3x = 0.7x

Amount spent on other items:

Other times = 75% pf 0.7x = 0.75(0.7x) = 0.525x

Find the amount remaining:

Amount remaining = 0.7x - 0.525x = 0.175x

Find the percentage of money saved:

Percentage = ( saved ÷ total amount ) x 100

Percentage = ( 0.175x  ÷ x ) x 100 = 17.5%

Answer: 17.5%

Answer:

16.25%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the total income the Man has earned

(note : In this question we don't find x, we find the percentage of income he saves.)

Amount spent on house rental :

35% of his income ; 35% of x

\frac{35}{100} x  = 0.35x

Total Amount remaining after spending on house rental :

= x - 0.35x

=-0.65x ..... (1)

Amount spend on other remaining items:

= 75% of the total amount remaining; (1)

= \frac{75}{100} (0.65x)

= 0.75 (0.065x)

= 0.4888x .... (2)

Total amount remaining = total amount remaining on spending house rental - total amount spend on remaining items

(1) - (2)

= 0.650x - 0.488x

=0.162x

The percentage of money saved :

(Remaining money / total money) x 100

= \frac{0.162x}{x} (100)

Both the x will cancel out

= 0.162 (100)

= 16.2%

Hope it helps :)
